The mechanic
Three rounds.
One hand. No refills.
The battlefield is divided into Strength, Agility and Intelligence — six rows in all, because each section has one row per player. Every unit belongs to exactly one section, and that affiliation decides where it can be placed. Nowhere else.
A round goes to whoever finishes with the higher total power across the whole board — but a card can only ever enter its own section, and a section holds six. Win two rounds and the match is yours. Spend everything winning the first and you will not have the cards left to win a second.

Most card games ask which of your cards is strongest. This one asks where you are allowed to put it — and whether you can afford to spend it this round.
Factions
Three factions and a hired fourth colour
Build an army with Monsters, use powerful spells with Humans, or control the battlefield with Nature.
The world of Runewards — hover a marker
242 playable cards in total. Mercenaries are a shared pool, not a fourth faction — any deck can draw on them.

Runewards: Strategy Card Game is free on Android and on Windows — the campaign, the adventure tiers and online matches, with 242 cards to collect. No advertising, and no account needed to install it.
The restoration
Switched off once. Running again now.
Runewards launched in 2018 and stopped working a while later. Nobody decided to close it. The service it depended on was switched off, and the game had nothing left to connect to.
It has since been rebuilt, and it is running again. It is looked after by one person, which is the reason the download opens when the build is ready for other people to play, and not before.
